Established in 1983, the Doddington and Rollo Community Association is a charitable organisation dedicated to fostering opportunities for education, training, and employment, while also providing essential facilities for recreation and community engagement. Over the years, the association has transitioned from relying heavily on grants to achieving financial self-sufficiency for its day-to-day operations, ensuring stability and enabling strategic planning for the future without the looming threat of funding cuts. In pursuit of its mission, DRCA offers a range of facilities that cater to the diverse needs of the community: A bustling business centre equipped with workshop units, serving as a vibrant hub for small enterprises to thrive. These units are available for letting to a wide array of businesses, fostering local entrepreneurship, skill development, and economic growth.
"Really fantastic sessions, the opportunity to practice yoga and to join in the community on the estate is an enormously enriching social and physical event." "I feel very privileged to be able to attend these brilliant yoga sessions. They make me feel alive and energised and fitter, physically and mentally. It's also great to meet other people who live locally and build a friend circle.”
"The sessions have really helped my physical wellbeing. I joined this class in hope to get more active as I suffer from high blood pressure and trouble sleeping. Throughout the weeks of Versha’s class I started to notice a positive change with my sleep pattern the evenings of the class. I absolutely love the class! For someone who is not a fan of the gym or intense workout classes, Versha’s dance class allows me to get the exercise I need in a fun and entertaining way.”
"The sessions have enormously benefited me both mentally and physically. I joined this class when I was in a dark place. I just lost both my husband and my mother. Through Edit's classes, it gradually eased me out of that dark place and brought me some light and positivity. I am in a much better place both mentally and physically. I am very grateful to Edit for helping me and continue to help me through her classes. It allows me to give priority for my self care and well-being.”
